Motor vehicle policy: accident procedures
在 event 一场事故, the following procedures must be followed.
- Obtain any medical attention that is necessary. Any accident that involves personal injury or property damage in excess of $1,000 must be reported to the police. 在 event that it is not possible to determine the cost of damages, please report the accident to the police.
- Exchange information with the other operator involved (if applicable), minimally obtaining driver’s license and registration information, insurance company information and contact 数字. Also, obtain the names, addresses and telephone 数字 of all witnesses.
- Don’t admit fault or liability for the accident.
- Complete an accident report form (MV104) located in all college-owned vehicle glove boxes or available at Campus Safety.
- Notify the driver's supervisor and 风险管理 (ext. 5812) of the accident as 尽快. If the accident occurs on campus, contact Campus Safety (ext. 5566).
- The college’s insurance company may contact you to obtain accident information. 请 respond as promptly as possible.
- Information and records regarding accidents will be maintained by the 风险管理 办公室.
- Other considerations when involved in a vehicle accident:

Post-accident review
Vehicle accidents may undergo a post-accident review to determine the cause and preventability 一场事故. Reviews could consist of representatives from the 安全委员会, Campus Safety and the vehicle operator's department or 学生事务. 附加的 Post Accident Review Guidelines will be used as evaluation criteria.
Once a determination as to cause and preventability is established, findings and recommendation will be forwarded to 人力资源 and the vehicle operator's supervisors (for employees) or 学生事务 (for 学生) for any corrective action (e.g. temporary or permanent denial of college driving privileges, required attendance at additional training program, 等).
